Product Description
A minor key opening theme makes this new rag piece a rarity, if not a mystery, from the opening notes. The main theme is in C minor, repeated. The second theme is like the interlude in a drama where the detective gets to know the characters, and suspects a little better, perhaps engaging in a bit of witty verbal repartee, in the relative major. Thus the 2nd section is extended, but not repeated. The main theme, the central mystery, appears again, and is followed by the grand Solution to the Puzzle, in the minor subdominant, F minor, repeated. Octaves with thirds are featured in the finale. Harmonically rich, and building in intensity as the piece unfolds, just like any good page-turning who-dun-it! Approx 4 mins at suggested tempo. Pedal on the strong beats, and Don't Play Too Fast!
