Product Description

Through the centuries, Christmas traditions have developed and changed, but this song draws our thoughts back to that first Christmas night when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. "Ever wonder what it was like on that first Christmas night . . . no sleigh bells ringing, no church bells pealing, but the stars shown bright 'round Bethlehem that night, as shepherds lay sleeping the angels came singing . . ."

This reflective song, arranged for a duet or 2-part choir, begins with both parts singing unison and then the alto begins harmonizing on the chorus. For the second verse and repeat of the chorus, the Soprano leads with the Alto echoing. The piece concludes by repeating the question asked at the very beginning. Written in the key of F major, the vocal ranges are as follows (C4=middle C): Soprano--C4 to D5; Alto--G3 to C5. Duration 3:30.

Purchase price includes the 9 page combined score plus a separate 4 page score with piano accompaniment only (to reduce page turns for the accompanist). To purchase multiple copies for choral use, this arrangement is available separately at a reduced price: On That First Christmas Night (for 2-part choir, SA)
