Product Description
The popularity of my English Chorale Preludes has convinced me to release the "sequel," Twelve More Chorale Preludes on Hymns from the British Isles. This is a more ecumenical set, including worthy tunes from Wales, Scotland and Ireland along with a few more English hymns which I couldnt squeeze in last time.
Here are such favorites as "Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah," "Be Thou My Vision," "Rejoice Ye Pure in Heart," and "Hail the Day That Sees Him Rise," as well as some lovely tunes like DUNDEE and DOWN AMPNEY which deserve to be known better.
There are actually thirteen Preludes in this collection as the Welsh tune ABERYSTWYTH is set twice, once as "Jesus, Lover of my Soul," and again as the Advent hymn "Watchman, Tell Us of the Night." The set ends with BROTHER JAMES AIR, dressed up like a movement from a Bach trio sonata.
As before, most of the Preludes fit on two facing pages, provenances and durations are included for your planning purposes and the score prints in landscape format. If you liked the earlier set you will enjoy these as well!
