Product Description
This is a simple, sweet little ditty for brass sextet with three percussion parts. It is, basically, a waltz. It's in ternary form and the melody is harmonised in thirds (hence three by three by three)
The middle section is in a minor mode and is ripe for a touch of 'hamming it up' with each soloist squeezing every ounce of pathos out of the musical lines.
The final section is very similar to the beginning, but at a faster tempo. There's a brief passing reference to my hero, the late Derek Bourgeois' Serenade where the tune has a hemiola.
This piece is suitable for players of medium to advanced ability.
