Product Description
This challenging arrangement provides the
opportunity for a young string ensemble (of approximately Grade 5-6 level) to experience the exhilaration of Holsts
epic symphonic orchestral work, albeit on a slightly smaller scale!
Although some of the more complex sections have been
omitted, as much as possible of the original structure has been preserved.
In order to save valuable rehearsal time, some of
the notation has been respelled so that it is more obviously readable to
younger players. For example, in bars 28-33 the original D flats (going to B
naturals) in the 1st violin part have been rewritten as C sharps.
Hopefully this (and other similar respellings) will be more practical and lead
to a smoother rehearsal experience for all involved!
This piece requires both a 3rd violin and
a viola section.
