In this original song for voice and piano I have used as inpiration the nursery rhyme 'Little Boy Blue' to create a jazz-infused dreamy song that also incorporates touches of gospel and blues with and bit of art-song thrown in for good measure! It is 3.26 minutes long and tries to wake up 'Little boy Blue' who is fast asleep under a haystack. This would make a great addition to either an art-song programme, if you want a lighter touch with a surprise ending, or it would make a an original feature in a set of jazz songs.
