Product Description

"Una furtiva lagrima" (A furtive tear) is the romanza from act 2, scene 8 of the Italian opera L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Donizetti. It is sung by Nemorino (tenor) when it appears that the love potion he bought to win the heart of his dream lady, Adina, is working. He loves Adina, but she is not interested in an innocent, rustic man such as he. To win her heart, he buys a love potion with all the money he has in his pocket. It is actually a cheap red wine sold by a traveling quack doctorbut when he sees Adina weeping, he assumes the "elixir" has worked and she has fallen in love with him. This aria has been sung by the greatest tenors: Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras and many others.

This arrangement for concert band and tenor voice includes the following parts: Flute, Oboe (or Soprano Sax), Bassoon, Clarinet 1-2-3, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax 1-2, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Trumpet 1-2-3, F Horn 1-2, Trombone 1-2, C Baritone, Bb Baritone T.C., Tuba, Bb Tuba, String Bass, Nemorino (tenor voice). For a totally instrumental version there are also three solo parts: Solo Bb or C Euphonium (baritone) and Solo F Horn.
