Product Description

These two contrasting marches, the pensive "Funeral March" and spirited "Military March" from Coleridge-Taylor's orchestral "Othello Suite, Op. 79" are a showcase for brass choir generating enthusiastic audience response.
See also the Charles Decker Music Press brass choir arrangement of four movements from the "Othello Suite". Coleridge-Taylor was an early 20th century English composer, conductor and advocate for Black composers. The brass choir arrangement is scored for four B-flat trumpets with trumpet 1 doubling on piccolo B-flat, four horns, three trombones, euphonium and tuba. The recording is of the entire edition.

A welcome new series to brass repertoire. Highly recommended!
Wesley Nance, Rochester Philharmonic, Eastman School of Music

I was so pleased to see the great works arranged for brass ensemble by Charles Decker Music Press especially the Music of Black Composers Series. It was rewarding to perform several of these with Summit Brass and students attending the Rafael Mendez Brass institute. You have provided the brass world with some real gems.
Joseph Parisi, Dir. Summit Brass, Fountain City Brass Band
