Travel Guides is a light-hearted tour of some historic buildings, using the words of the visitors' guides to capture a flavour of these beautiful places. I have been experimenting with ways of notating rich, lush harmonies in a way that is singable by a community choir. This started with Chiswick House, written when I formed COMA Voices and we needed repertoire quickly. The Travel Guide series is an opportunity to spread the COMA magic to community choirs. It is scored for SAB, the line-up of the majority of community choirs. The solo parts are mostly spoken, giving plenty of performance opportunities.
