In 1893, John Philip Sousa wrote one of his most famous marches, The Liberty Bell, when his wife told him in a letter that their son had marched in his first parade for the ceremony held in Philadelphia to mark the return of the Liberty Bell to the city, which had been taken elsewhere for some time for patriotic celebrations.
