In 1977, Weather Report turned the world upside down with their piece "Birdland" introducing new sonorities and jazz-rock fusion to the mass public. With a simple four-part SATB structure and rudimentary percussion parts, this arrangement is suited for bands of all ages, sizes, and skills. Although this arrangement was made with the intention of being played in the stands, the half-time breakdown at the end of the arrangement provides a great impact for a field show that audiences and judges are sure to love.
