Product Description

The Humming Chorus, or Coro a bocca chiusa, is one of the most poignant and atmospheric interludes in Giacomo Puccinis opera Madama Butterfly, composed in 1904. Appearing at the beginning of Act III, this brief choral piece provides a moment of quiet reflection and emotional depth in the midst of the opera's tragic narrative. Performed by a wordless chorus, this piece is marked by its soft, sustained hummingcreating an atmosphere that is at once serene and suffused with melancholy. The music gently underscores the passing of time and the emotional stillness before the coming storm.

This arrangement for solo flute and piano is ideal for the early intermediate performer and this arrangement would also be suitable for violin or oboe too!
