This duet for Bassoon and Contrabassoon imagines a committee meeting of notable upright, subsequently uptight, chronically snobbish, most-likely-gated community. Each speaker at the meeting is presented in a seperate miniature, with an attempt to characterise their subject matter and speaking tone through largely chromatic, non-tonal language. This work was an experiment in texture and harmony, exploring how the two can combine to humorously create the feeling of boredom, snobbery, prestige and indulgent self-seriousness through music.
