Product Description

Lacrimosa (or lacrymosa), one of the most sorrowful yet beautiful movements from W.A. Mozart's Requiem in D minor, is part of the Dies Irae Sequence which speaks of man's sins and his ask for forgiveness. Mozart never actually composed this work, only detailing drafts up to the first 8 measures before he had passed away. The full work was completed by his one and only composition student, Franz Xaver Süssmayr.

Originally written for 4 soloists, choir and orchestra, this work has been arranged for Cello Octet.
The arrangment is perfectly suited for a mixed level cello choir, utilising the entire range of the cello with each part's difficulty as follow:

Cello 1 and 2: in treble and tenor clefs
Cello 3 and 4: in tenor and bass clefs
Cello 5 and 6: Bass clef, up to 4th position
Cello 7 and 8: Bass clef, playable in 1st position with extensions
