This is more like a "music box" version of Ach Du Lieber Augustine which uses the higher range of the piano. The 8va markings are used a lot for ease of reading. The tune has been used for a number of other songs ("Did you ever see a Lassie," "Gobble Gobble Fat Turkeys," and "Daar Wordt aan de deur geklopt". Curiously enough this tune also appears at the end of the Blood, Sweat and Tears hit, "Spinning Wheel."
