This piece is ideally suited for Marimba Workshop (Pty) Ltd marimbas, www.marimbaworkshop.co.za but can be played on a variety of instruments.

This simple, yet effective arrangement of the popular piece entitled "Mbube" or "Lion Sleeps Tonight" was originally written and recorded by Solomon Linda, a migrant worker in South Africa for the South African Gallo Record Company in 1939.

All parts are simply written on the stave to facilitate ease of reading.

I have layered the entrance of the various parts to create an introduction. Feel free to experiment the way you layer your parts.

This is a firm favourite for all marimba bands as it is well-known and fun to play.
