Part of the legend of Robin Hood in which he overcomes the proud bishop of Hereford, who tried to arrest him, and, by way of penance or simply fun, Robin forced the clumsy cleric to do an ungainly dance.
The piece is in 11 time, a limping clumsy waltz as it were.
