Features of the piece are 1) the rippling effect created by a slight phasing using irregular rhythmic units between the parts 2) various interesting harmonic effects created by the use of Pentatonic and Lydian scales, the fifth mode of the harmonic minor scale and bi-tonality. 3) A more rhapsodic contrasting section with a rippling figure in one part, over which a rhythmically free counter-melody floats. This meditative section allows for freedom of interpretation.
