Product Description

This beautifully expressive arrangement for advanced piano solo draws inspiration from Chopin's Ballade No. 4, Op. 52. It begins with the refrain of the hymn, It Is Well with My Soul in the key of A-flat major, then continues to the verse (in D-flat major). The first verse is thoughtful: "When peace like a river attendeth my way..." The melody occasionally moves between the hands. In the second verse, it build intensity: "Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come..." The key changes to B-flat major and transitions to a simpler style for the second hymn, "Does Jesus Care?" It returns to the key of D-flat for the final triumphant verse: "And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight..." It ends thoughtfully, echoing the opening phrase of the arrangement.

This piece is suitable for advanced pianists looking for a recital solo or church offertory. The composer is an active church musician and welcomes your input!
