Matthew Allen Trevino

Matthew Trevino is in his 17th year teaching elementary music, and his 11th year teaching at Roan Forest Elementary. Trevino is a 2022 and 2023 CMA Foundation Music Teacher of Excellence Recipient and HEB Excellence in Education Statewide Winner. He is a 3X semifinalist for the Music Educator GRAMMY. Since establishing his percussion group Sonido in 2015 the group has made a huge impact on the elementary music world. Sonido is a 2X TMEA Elementary Invited Ensemble. They are know for performing fresh arrangements of Pop songs and really bringing them to life. Trevino is a regular clinician at the TMEA Convention, and enjoys providing support for teachers that want to grow their elementary percussion ensembles.
