Nove de Julho, is an Argentine tango composed by Ernesto Nazareth in 1917. According to the biographer Luiz Antonio de Almeida, "the date certainly refers to the day that proclaimed the independence of the United Provinces of South America, later Argentina." It is the only Argentinean tango in Nazareth's work, and throughout the play we can hear the rhythm of the habanera.
