Product Description
Duration just under 3 and a half minutes.
A SATB choir arr. with strings and/or organ.
The melody comes from a French manuscript from 1613 which is based on the well known chord sequence LA FOLIA.
The subject matter of the text is quite original: Joseph's frustration over the fact that a better place for his betrothed Mary to give birth could not be found, while she consoles him because the poor people of the world will be able to identify with them exactly for that.
It may also be performed just with the strings or just with the organ, depending on the resources available. A well tried and well received part of any Christmas concert!
The pdf file includes conductor's score, choir score, and parts.
The attached mp3 file is exported from a sibelius file.
