Product Description
If Ye Love Me is a Tudor four-part anthem by English composer Thomas Tallis (1505-1585), often performed at ceremonial occasions and weddings, including at the wedding of Prince Harry and Megan Markle.
It is an excellent piece for early intermediate to intermediate players to practice ensemble blend, beauty of tone and gradual dynamic changes, without too many other technical challenges to overcome.
This arrangement distributes the original four voice parts across a standard Brass Quintet, and is transposed down a fourth from the original to make the ranges easier for beginner to intermediate brass players. The ranges of the parts are as follows (transposed pitches):
Trumpet 1 in Bb: G3 to E5
Trumpet 2 in Bb: G3 to B4
Horn in F: G3 to C5
Trombone: G2 to D4
Tuba: C2 (opt. G1) to F3
Optional Horn in Eb and Trombone parts are provided as alternates to the Horn in F part.
