Product Description
A new arrangement of the 19th-century hymn, for SATB choir and organ (or piano) accompaniment, with descant. The arrangement features a variety of voicings, including unison, men's voices, women's voices, and a final harmony verse with descant. The descant part could also be performed or doubled by a solo instrument, such as flute, violin, oboe, or horn. The melody, harmonies, and accompaniment are simple and accessible by most church choirs and keyboard players. Liturgical use: topics including the Second Coming, the millenium, Christ's return, and the resurrection of the saints/the righteous. Could also be used at Thanksgiving or harvest celebrations, where the "harvest" of these lyrics is metaphorical for Christ's resurrection of the righteous.
