Initially composed for alto saxophone and bassoon, PHOSTASTECAL SALSA is based on and inspired by salsa music as it utilizes such melodies, rhythms and motifs. Composed in an G minor mode, it features fast, energetic and dance-like music, mostly demonstrated in its use of highly syncopated rhythms. It also explores the extreme high and low tessituras for both instruments.
