This is an engaging setting of the lovely Appalachian tune {Beech Spring} (sometimes errantly called  Beach Spring) for cello and piano. Not for the novice cellist, the chords and double stops will challenge even better players, but the result is a work that sounds truly American. Since this tune is used with several hymn texts, it can be fittingly played in church, but would work equally well in a recital or concert of almost any type. About 4 minutes duration.
