Product Description

This is a brass band arrangement of the well-known traditional Welsh march "Men of Harlech". There already exist various arrangements of this march for brass band. This arrangement is different as it has been arranged as a street march that can be played by bands of lower section or youth standards upwards. Also it can be used as a concert piece in its own right. In a street march contest, such as the Whit Friday March contests, the opening fanfare would be played standing and the band would begin to march when the main tune begins left foot first! To give the cornets a rest and to show off the bands percussion section: there is an 8 bar percussion-only section in the middle of the arrangement. This is followed by a re-introduction of the main tune, this time quietly played by the horns and trombones rather than cornets. The cornets then return and lead the band to a powerful close.
