Product Description

The final two selections in GateWay's Pictures Organ Solo set are these two very different pieces. Different techniques are used to achieve the divergent effects. Catacombs uses a static registration, and employs movement between the manuals, along with the use of the volume pedal, to achieve the sharp, even violent, dynamic contrasts required.
The number of pitches written and their range also contributes to the rise and fall of the soundmass.
Con Lingua has an ostinato in the treble throughout, and the tune is carried by the top notes of the chords and the pedal line, as in the original. Registrations are suggested. Movement between manuals is prominent in Catacombs.
The audio sample does NOT reflect our suggested voicings. If these pieces prove popular, gateWay will endeavor to set the entire suite, and will offer the exant pieces in a single collection, at a reduced package price. MBB
