The characteristic syncopation that identifies this piece is treated differently in this arrangement than other commercial piano/vocal or solo charts. The main 4/4 beat that is most important to all dance music is the main component of the LH accompaniment, NOT that syncopation. That part is played when the melody, that is, the vocal line, stops for a brief measure or two. When the piece is totally instrumental, as at the beginning and end, that rhythm is played in the Right Hand, where is is placed against a straight 4/4, so as to give the proper effect.
