Product Description
2015 Piano Contest Here is one of Bach's most haunting and yet intellectually rigorous compositions, set up so the intermediate player can see, at a glance, what hand plays what voice, and which accidental is operating when. The early editions, and many others since concentrate SO much on showing the voices and how long each note should LAST, that the important parts, which in our opinion, are when each note STARTS, and which hand plays it, are either left ambiguous or worse.
So, here is an edition/arrangement, with 100% original notes, and precise L-R hand assignments. The French device of the "laissez vibre" or Tie to no where, is used throughout, for visual simplification.
Many cautionary accidentals are included, so as to minimize the questioning of pitch that arises from such chromatic writing. Dur. 4:00 MP3 MIDI audio. Pedaling, ala Paul Badura-Skoda, is encouraged.
