Product Description

Would your congregation like to start its Easter processional with a bold statement of celebration? This brass quintet (three trumpets, trombone, bass trombone) with optional organ and percussion (timpani and tam-tam) accomplishes just that, and in a style that will bring to mind the harmonies of John Williams and Aaron Copland. The traditional Easter processional hymn includes five unique presentations of the hymn, one for each verse (congregations wishing to perform all six verses of the hymn can easily repeat one of the verse sections). Reference lyrics are included in the conductor's score. Following a penultimate verse performed largely over a powerful pedal point, the final verse features a powerful statement of the melody presented by the low brass/organ, with explosive interjections by the trumpets. Optional timpani/tam-tam is consolidated into a single, three-sheet, part and is easily playable by one percussionist. Top 1st trumpet note is B5.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
