Two mellifluous selections from Borodin's Petite Suite, originally for piano. Borodin subtitled the flowing, expressive Nocturne "Lulled by the happiness of being in love." Serenade, subtitled "Dreaming of love," evokes a love song accompanied by the strumming of a guitar. Both are great music for weddings or chamber ensemble concerts.
These arrangements are appropriate for advanced high school clarinetists, as well as for college and adult players. They give the alto clarinet a chance to play some beautiful melodies. But if you don't have an alto clarinet, alternate parts for basset horn and 3rd B-flat Clarinet are included.
