These three pieces (The Procession, Waltzing in the Rain and Tim's Dance) can be played by either a String Quartet or a String Ensemble. The Double Bass part is optional, but its inclusion is preferable in the case of a larger ensemble. The pieces are presented here as a suite, but may of course be used individually. All three pieces are in D major, with no use of accidentals. The violin and viola parts all sit comfortably in first position. Rhythmic values used: semibreve (whole-note), dotted minim (dotted half-note), minim (half-note), crotchet (quarter-note), quavers (eighth-notes). Quavers (eighth-notes always appear in groups of two or four. Articulations/signs used: staccato, accent, slur, tie, repeat, pause. Parts in this set: Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Violin 3, Cello, Double Bass. The Violin 3 part is the same as the Viola part. Although not shown on the score, the Violin 3 part is included in this set in case there are no Viola players or not enough Viola players to balance the ensemble.
