This piece began its life as a piano duet. It was so popular with students that the composer has since made several adaptations for various ensembles. This arrangement is for Intermediate Level String Quartet OR String Ensemble. The Double Bass part is optional, but its inclusion is preferable in the case of a larger ensemble. Parts in this set: Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola / Violin 3, Cello, Double Bass. Although there are several semiquaver runs present, these should not present much difficulty if the players are familiar with the A harmonic minor scale. The semiquaver runs used in the cello part are all identical. Violin 3 = Viola. Although not shown on the score, the Violin 3 part is included in this set in case there are not enough Viola players to balance the ensemble.
