Product Description

You dont have to be an emperor to admire these three regal and stately Baroque fanfares from 1667 composed for an elaborately staged Equestrian Ballet at the court of the Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna. Performed in its day by trumpeters with valveless instruments and a pair of timpani, each fanfare announced with a different articulation style a new portion for the complex choreographed cavalry Equestrian Ballet.
For four B-flat trumpets and optional timpani, useful for ceremonies and brass programs, the fanfares can be an exciting opening work to a band or orchestra concert featuring the trumpet section. Doubling parts enhances the musical impact of Baroque trumpet corps timbre and creates options for antiphonal treatment. The recording is an actual trumpet ensemble performance of the entire edition.
