The six quartets for flute, violin, viola and cello were probably composed in Naples in about 1800. This Sonata is an arrangement of the first quartet for flute and piano. The first five quartets each have two movements, the sixth having only one. They are all engaging and enjoyable to play and listen to as might be expected from a composer whose operas in his life time were more popular than those of a certain W. A. Mozart.

Players of intermediate standard and above will enjoy playing this tuneful operatic style piece.

The editing has been lightly done and all editings are shown in Parentheses ( ) or dashed lines. Obvious small errors have been corrected without comment.
