LOVE ME TENDER (Aura Lee) - FLUTE and GUITAR duet (Suits Oboe or recorder in C too)For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes "Aura Lee, written about the America Civil War, was published in 1861, but is now a Public Domain melody (see the Public Domain Information project at www.pdinfo.com).
You may know it better as Elvis Presleys Love Me Tender, although the words make that version a copyright song.
Its a perfect beginners piece for flute, oboe or recorder in C.
The piano part is a homage to Bachs famous Prelude in C Major, from The Well Tempered Clavier.
About 50% of the Prelude features in this accompaniment to a beginners version of Aura Lee, and it turns it from a straightforward and perhaps uninspiring study into a concert item the audience will love!
I hope you enjoy playing this piece!"<.div>
