The structure is AA'BB'CC'; the repeats are written out. I've arranged this tune as a duo and added slurs, ornaments, and slight melodic alterations. The melody is in the upper part throughout. The Shepherd's Daughter can be played on two violins or flute (recorder) and violin. In the audio sample provided here, it is performed on violin and recorder. The Shepherd's Daughter makes a beautiful and unique wedding processional and could combine effectively with other music from the Romantic Playford series.
