Product Description

"Komm, lieber Mai" or "Sehnsucht nach dem Frühlinge" (K. 596) is one of a select number of songs written by famous composers which have become so popular that many people believe they are folk songs. Mozart wrote the song in 1791 to a poem by Christian Adolph Overbeck. He also used the melody in the very last piano concerto he wrote, no. 27 in B flat major (K. 595), composed at the same time.

For any string quartet, this is an accessible and joyful piece of music, celebrating springtime. A great choice for any recital or other occasion at this time of the year.
