FIRST LESSON ORCHESTRA
Can a child join an orchestra after just one violin or cello lesson? Of course they can! You just need the right repertoire and thats what you have
found in this book.
With these flexible arrangements, absolute beginners can play together
with slightly more experienced pupils, or with their teacher, or a pianist or
why not with singers? Whichever way they are used, the arrangements will sound good right from the start, enabling young string players to experience the joy of making music together from the very beginning.
"Star" part: for absolute beginners. Simple rhythmic
patterns or ostinatos on open strings, very well suited for learning by ear.
"Moon" part: for pupils who have just progressed beyond open strings.
Simple patterns using fingers on one string only.
"Sun" part: usually a well known melody. This can be sung, or played by
a more experienced pupil or a teacher. Provided with chords for
optional piano or guitar accompaniment.
Song list: Row, Row, Row Your Boat, Frère Jaques, This Day, I'm A Little Teapot, What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor, Time To Get Up, John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt, Oh Sinner Man, Oh Dear What Can The Matter Be, Brown Girl In The Ring, Fox And The Rat And The Piggy.
Violin book and cello book included in the download.
