Product Description

This setting of psalm 130, 'Out Of The Deep' for organ and alto voice is dedicated to Thomas Wilson (DoM St Mary's Cathedral Sydney Australia and former assistant organist at Westminster Cathedral London UK). Premiered by the composer with Ursula Bisley, contralto, on the Letourneau opus 31 organ in Hamilton NZ, it was subsequently performed by Thomas Wilson at the Royal Academy of Music, London UK. It is very much an organ piece with alto voice, the organ writing is loosely based on the 12 note scale and the piece is both dramatic and appealing. While it can work in a liturgical setting it is well suited to a concert performance. It can be performed on an organ with two manuals but is well suited to a larger instrument. The full score runs to eight pages with a performance time of about nine minutes.
