This small collection came about when the Elite Artists Trio, a Steinway ensemble in Taiwan, was planning to record How Sweet The Sound, my collection of hymn arrangements for piano trio. I was asked to provide additional titles that would include parts for a guest flautist. I chose to rearrange two choral anthems and a vocal solo with flute obbligato for the purpose. Crown Him Lord Of All is a medley of three hymns, Crown Him With Many Crowns, The Head That Once Was Crowned With Thorns and All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name. Goin Over Home is a medley of the American folk hymn, Wayfarin Stranger and the Spiritual, Soonah Will Be Done. The Saints And Angels Song is a setting of the hymn, The Love Of God, with the title taken from the last line of the refrain. All three pieces reference the Christian hope of a home in Heaven where Jesus is Lord, and will be praised eternally. Each title will work equally well for a standard quartet with two violins, cello and piano. For advanced intermediate to advanced performers, they are suitable for church services and concerts, and can all be heard on the album Amazing Grace by Elite Artists Trio.
