Gaudete for SATTB choir and rehearsal piano
This arrangement of the popular Christmas Carol Gaudete is a transcription of the 1972 hit single by British folk-rock band Steeleye Span.  The piano accompaniment has been added for rehearsal purposes only.

Gaudete first appeared in print in a Finnish publication of 1582 entitled Piæ Cantiones Ecclesiasticæ et Scholasticæ Veterum Episcoporum. The æolian modal polyphony and Medieval Latin text suggest a much earlier date of composition originating from central Europe; the plainsong melody of the verses is derived from liturgical sources of the same period.
