Product Description
The official anthem of the Canary Islands, arranged for String Orchestra & Percussion.
A region of Spain, the anthem used in the Canaries for official local occasions was introduced on May 30 (Canary Islands Day), 2003. It is an adaptation of a local folk song called "Arrorró" (Lullaby).
Before the official announcement of the anthem unofficial local songs were in place, and tended to differ depending on the persons political beliefs. Those who preferred independence for the Canary Islands used the "Canto de Tierra" as their anthem, while others used another work by Teobaldo Power y Lugo-Vina, "Pasodoble Islas Canarias".
