A sacred hymn for SATB voices. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Mary Ann Snowball. See text below:
"Ask of God" are saintly words revered.
"Ask of God," a sacred moment seized,
For young Joseph knelt in true devotion
Waiting for stark darkness to be eased.
Soon two Beings descended down from up above
To assure all mankind of Godly love.
"Ask in faith," this pondering discerned.
"Ask in faith," when lacking wisdoms grace.
When young Joseph knelt requesting answers
Heaven opened, showing Gods true face.
His response was Josephs lasting work to aid
Humankind see the role our Savior played.
He obeyed; this vision was esteemed.
He obeyed; Gods message was so plain.
Joseph did become the worlds prophet
And before the Lord, Himself, would reign.
Joseph brought the Book of Mormon forth to teach
Gospel truths to grant heavnly, lasting peace.
He obeyed, then baptism emerged.
He obeyed, and temple covenants came.
He restored through Peter, James, and John
Priesthood keys in dispensations name.
John the Baptist also brought Aaronic powr,
Viewing truth of the Restorations hour.
"Ask of God" became words to recall.
"Ask in faith" reminds us to request,
From our pleadings to our Heavnly Father,
Surest answers; we are truly blessed.
"Ask of God," and always ask with faith-filled love.
"Ask of God." Hell respond from up above.
