In birthing season long ago A Baby boy arrived
Who would become the Lamb of God Through laws which He helped guide.
Born as a child at Bethlehem, In poverty and strife,
He grew when young and trod the path Set out for him in life.
Though veiled in flesh he was a God And lived like common man.
As the Creator He would be The crown in Fathers plan.
He also was the Shepherd then Who saved and taught from birth.
He led his sheep securely down The path for all on earth.
He would not be a tiny lamb On that first Christmas night.
He would not be a shepherd on A hill where stars shown bright.
But He would search for fallen sheep And small, lost lambs that strayed,
Then He would call each name until He journeyed to their aid.
In time our Savior would become The only sacrifice
By shedding blood for all mankind, But not in a disguise.
The Lamb of God is Jesus Christ; He freely died to save.
He is the Shepherd and the Lamb; Pure love is all He gave.
