Why hast Thou given man his will?
He throws so much away.
Ungrateful he lives.
So rarely he gives.
Unworthy, he ceases to pray.
But Thy confidence, Lord,
Displayed in Thy Word,
Inspires him to try the more.
The life of one,
Thy Holy Son,
Makes him turn once again to implore.
God gave His Son as sacrifice
That we might freely live,
To choose wrong or right,
Choose darkness or light,
Our choices now wisdom could give.
And The Son showed the way
To mold this rough clay
Refining this dust into gold
'Til comes the day
Man's will gives way
To another's whose love is of old.
Even though errors we may choose
And less than perfect be,
When we will repent,
The One who God sent,
From bondage He sets us all free.
We will raise up the voice
For blessings of choice
And follow God's heavenly way.
We'll choose to live
And honor give
As did He who restores us each day.
