Product Description
A haunting and yet insistent piece for three harpsichords in the Superlocrian mode - this is a mode which can be understood as being like the major mode except that the tonic note is
raised by a semitone in comparison with the major mode.
Conversely it can be said to be like the major mode but with all the notes except the tonic flattened by a semitone.
Either way, the effect is strange and makes a curious change from the type of harpsichord music which is normally found.
Those used to modal changes to folk songs will recognise a Welsh Christmas or New Year's song: Nos Galan (Deck the Hall with boughs of holly)
