A scherzo for orchestra inspired by Ogden Nash's poem "The Sniffle" (see http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/ogden_nash/poems/19654 for the poem) The brave little girl Isabel who has a cold, blows her nose violently at the beginning and the instruments glissando and parp their way comically throughout the piece, going into a dance routine as she bravely skips and jumps while other girls with colds just moan and look like "a rained on waffle". The pdf file contains the score and parts: the orchestra comprises: 2 flutes, 2 clarinets, 1 bass clarinet, 3 trumpets, 2 trombones, piano, violins I and II, violas, cellos and double basses.
