Product Description
Robert Lucas de Pearsall is not a well-known composer, especially to instrumentalists, as he composed mainly for the voice. Pearsall lived in the Romantic period, but wrote music in the style of the Renaissance and Classical periods. He did not have any formal musical education, and appears to have just written music as a hobby. His father was an amateur musician, which is probably where he received his talent for music.
This arrangement of Lay A Garland is an 8-part madrigal, which is one of his better known compositions.
Scored for 6 C flutes, alto, and bass. Optional contrabass flute and cello share the bass flute part.
Duration: 3.25 minutes.
